The function of the Board is advisory for the purpose of coordinating the work of the concerned departments dealing with Land Use policies, Soil Conservation, Land Preservation and development of land dues system and policies for sustainable use of the land resources.
The headquarter of the Board is at Chandigarh.
The expenditure on account of TA and DA of the officials shall be paid by the concerned departments. The expenses in respect of the Vice Chancellor, PAU, Ludhiana and Director Research, PAU, Ludhiana will be borne by the Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana. The expenditure of TA/DA of Chairman and all the non official members will be met out of the sanctioned budget grant under major head “2402 Soil & Water Conservation 102 - Strengthening of Punjab State Land Use Board- 90:10 % Centrally Sponsored Scheme-Plan Scheme code No. CS-12.
