PICTURES OF VARIOUS WORKS DONE BY DEPARTMENT

Micro irrigation is most useful and efficient for irrigation. It saves almost 70% water

Plantations  carried out on road side being irrigated with drip irrigation irrigation system

Bench terracing is done in uneven topography so that land could be used for agricultural purpose. This kind of farming has served as a lifeline for kandi areas and departments machinery division has played a major part in it.

These structures is constructed where there is uneven leveling in fields. The use of this structure is that it prevents soil erosion when water flows from one field to other

Construction of Water harvesting dam is underway in kandi area. department machinery division also constructs these structures on its own  besides hiring contractors for these works.

This structure serves as water harvesting structures collect water that is runoff and goes waste and are very useful as they not only provide irrigation during lean period and also prevent soil erosion besides encouraging agro forestry.

These structures are usually constructed by loose boulders and concrete generally to check soil erosion and also checks velocity of water in uneven topography

Spillway is constructed on the top of  water harvesting dam bundh to drain excess water thus preventing extra load of water which can cause damage and also prevents erosion of banks

The pump house seen  in picture mixes sweet water with sullage water is pumped in to underground pipe line system and then applied to fields. As this water contains various nutrients it saves fertilizers cost.

Lift irrigation projects installed near choe in distt. Hoshiarpur water is taken to feilds 2 to 3 km far which did not had any source of irrigation

Water harvesting dams collect water that is runoff and goes waste and are very useful as they not only provide irrigation during lean period but they also prevent soil erosion besides encouraging agro forestry in Shivalik Foothills
